Where is freedom in doujin?

There are lots of "non-free" art in doujin events. When I see that, I get rage and disgust.

In there, art that have no licenses are normal. Even if that's okay, here says "Do not share" (what do you mean?) or "Do not sell" (I don't even have freedom to sell the art to secondhand stores), there says "Burn the book after you read." It sounds like a joke, but the writer really writes so. I can't understand that, why do they distribute their books?

And, marketing and marketing. Most of the creators may be indie or amateur, but flyers they hand out invite visitors to non-free services, such as X/Twitter, Pixiv, note.com, BOOTH.pm, Wavebox.me, YouTube, etc. They say "Follow me!" That's so stressful and sad.

Where is freedom?

Do we need to advertise ourselves for distributing our works? Yes, we do, but this is ridiculous. What are we doing? What do we make people do? What do we sacrifice? What's our purpose?

I can't understand them.

I can't like the events.

I can't respect their choice.

So I don't participate in the events; I can't be them. I make freedom by myself, because I want freedom.

The point is, be myself. Showing myself. Even if I feel alone.

Honestly, do you think? The art world has not been free, have it?

Afterword

Yes, doujin's purpose is not free culture. But, most of doujin people make what they want with ignoring others' copyright, (I mean "fanmade" that have no permission from the right holders,) and that shows their thought that every art is free.

I don't know what other creators think. Some of them don't want to see their works in libraries or secondhand stores. What kind of a world do they want?

And using non-free services, it makes us weak, can be difficult for us to make small communities. Because when the services control us, we are one of them. (Do you believe your audience read and agree to the terms of service, and let the service providers use their personal information? The audience only want to reach you.)
